Health & Safety Guidelines

The health and safety of our community at Steelpointe Athletics is a top priority. We are committed to providing a safe environment for all participants, visitors, and staff. The following guidelines outline our protocols and expectations to ensure everyone can enjoy a secure and healthy experience at our facility.

  1. General Health and Safety Protocols
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: All areas of our facility are regularly cleaned and disinfected, with special attention to high-touch surfaces such as equipment, restrooms, and communal areas.
  • Hand Hygiene: We encourage everyone to wash their hands regularly and use the hand sanitizing stations provided throughout the facility.
  • Face Coverings: If required by local or national guidelines, face coverings may be mandated in certain areas of the facility. Please follow any posted instructions regarding masks.
  • Physical Distancing: When necessary, we may ask participants to maintain appropriate physical distance, especially in shared spaces like workout areas or training zones.
  1. Health Screening and Illness Prevention
  • Wellness Checks: We ask that all participants, visitors, and staff perform self-screening for symptoms of illness before entering the facility. If you are feeling unwell or have been in contact with someone diagnosed with a contagious illness, please refrain from visiting until you are symptom-free.
  • Reporting Illness: If you or someone in your group tests positive for a contagious illness within 48 hours of visiting, please inform us immediately so that we can take appropriate precautions.
  1. Equipment Usage and Cleanliness
  • Shared Equipment: All shared equipment, such as weights, mats, and machines, must be wiped down after each use. Cleaning supplies are provided in designated areas for your convenience.
  • Personal Gear: We encourage athletes and participants to bring their own personal gear, such as water bottles, towels, and mats, to reduce the sharing of equipment.
  1. Outdoor Training Area Safety
  • Weather Conditions: Always check the weather before using our outdoor facilities. In the event of extreme weather, such as thunderstorms or heat advisories, outdoor areas may be temporarily closed for your safety.
  • Hydration: We strongly recommend bringing water to outdoor training sessions and staying hydrated, especially during warmer months.
  • Proper Footwear: To prevent injury, please ensure proper athletic footwear is worn in both indoor and outdoor training areas.
  1. Emergency Preparedness
  • First Aid: A fully stocked first aid kit is available on-site, and staff members are trained in basic first aid and CPR. In the event of an emergency, please notify a staff member immediately.
  • Emergency Exits: Familiarize yourself with the emergency exits and evacuation routes posted around the facility. In case of an emergency, follow all staff instructions for a safe and orderly exit.
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator): An AED is located at [specific location in the facility]. Please notify staff immediately in case of a cardiac emergency.
  1. COVID-19 and Infectious Disease Prevention
  • Enhanced Cleaning: In response to infectious disease risks, such as COVID-19, we have increased our cleaning and disinfection protocols in accordance with CDC guidelines.
  • Capacity Limits: We may enforce capacity limits during high-risk periods to ensure safe distancing. Please reserve your time slots ahead if required.
  • Vaccination and Testing: If local or national health authorities recommend vaccination or testing for participation in indoor activities, please follow the guidelines and be prepared to show proof if necessary.
  1. Safe Use of Facilities
  • Supervision: All youth participants must be supervised by a coach, trainer, or guardian during their time in the facility.
  • Weight Room Safety: When using the strength and conditioning area, ensure that you are using proper techniques. Spotters are required for all heavy lifting, and safety collars should be used on free weights.
  • Stretch and Warm-Up: We encourage all participants to warm up and stretch before engaging in physical activities to reduce the risk of injury.
  1. Visitors and Guests
  • Visitor Guidelines: All visitors must adhere to the same health and safety standards as participants and staff. Visitors who are unwell or who do not follow posted guidelines will be asked to leave the premises.
  • Children and Pets: Children must be supervised at all times, and pets are not allowed inside the facility, except for certified service animals.
