Steve Anderson, Managing Director


Coach Anderson, named the 2024 FCIAC Assistant Lacrosse Coach of the Year, is in his seventh year as the Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator of the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team at Staples High School. Since taking on the role in 2021, his offensive strategy has driven the team to record-breaking success, including an impressive 15.3 goals per game in 2022. Under his leadership, Staples has produced 8 All-Americans, 12 All-State players, and 32 All-FCIAC athletes, solidifying the program as a national powerhouse.

In addition to lacrosse, Anderson has been the Freshman Football Coach at Staples since 2018 and actively supports youth sports in Westport through PAL. With more than 50 coaching seasons across lacrosse, football, girls' soccer, and boys' basketball, Anderson’s impact on Connecticut’s athletic community is extensive and far-reaching.

A former standout athlete at Trumbull High School, Anderson continued his lacrosse career at the University of New Haven and played semi-professional football. He is also certified as a Performance Enhancement Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Coach Anderson lives in Milford with his wife Dana, their children Tessa and Brayden, and their dog Maya.


Will Koshansky, Managing Director


Coach Koshansky is the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at Staples High School in Westport. He was named the US Lacrosse Connecticut Coach of the Year in 2022 and the FCIAC Boys Lacrosse Coach of the Year in 2021 & 2024. In 2022 the Wreckers were named the #1 Public School Lacrosse Program in the country. The program has finished in the Top 25 Nationally over the last few seasons. He is also a Managing Director of Eclipse Lacrosse Club, the #7 ranked Club Program in the country.

Will grew up on Long Island and went to St. Anthony's High School where he was a multi-sport athlete. He went on to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a four-year starter and a team captain.

After graduating in 2012, Will played professionally for the Rochester Rattlers and Chesapeake Bayhawks for a total of seven years, competing in two MLL Championship games.

Will currently resides in New Canaan with his wife KC and their two boys Tripp and Grady.

Mark Spellman, Director


Coach Mark Spellman brings over 30 years of elite performance and strength and conditioning experience to Steelpointe Athletics as the Director of Athletic Performance. His career includes 16 years at the Division I level, with a 12-year tenure as Director of Strength and Conditioning at Fairfield University (2001-13), where he oversaw programming for 20 Division I sports and over 400 varsity athletes. Spellman also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Villanova University (1999-2001) and more recently as Director of Strength and Conditioning for Football at Campbell University (2021-23).

Coach Spellman’s experience extends to the NFL, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1998 and Washington Redskins (now Commanders) in 1995. Before joining Steelpointe, he spent eight years in the private sector, including five years as Director of Healthy Living at the New Canaan YMCA in Connecticut.

A former varsity distance freestyle swimmer and conference champion, Spellman earned both his B.S. in Health/Fitness and Coaching (1993) and M.S. in Human Performance (2002) from Frostburg State University. He holds multiple certifications, including the RSCC*D and CSCS from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Coach Spellman currently lives in Stratford with his wife, Kelly, and three children: Emily, Drew, and Patrick.

At Steelpointe Athletics, Coach Spellman will lead the Athletic Performance Program, with a focus on speed development and athletic improvement, helping players enhance movement efficiency, perform at peak levels, and succeed on and off the field.

Ralphy Colon, Director


A former standout athlete at Bridgeport’s Central High School, Ralphy Colon brings a wealth of experience to Steelpointe Athletics. He was a four-year varsity letterman, two-time captain, and earned multiple all-conference honors. Ralphy continued his career at Patrick Henry Community College, where he led the #5 nationally ranked Patriots in batting average and doubles, and then attended Norfolk State University on a full academic and athletic scholarship, serving as team captain and leading the offense in doubles, on-base percentage, and total bases.

After playing, Ralphy spent 10 years coaching in Virginia Beach with the Old Dominion Hitters, where he helped more than 100 players earn college scholarships. Known for his expertise in hitting and infield instruction, Coach Ralphy is passionate about working with players of all ages and skill levels. Residing back in his hometown of Bridgeport, CT, Ralphy is thrilled to join Steelpointe Athletics as our Baseball Director, bringing his dedication to player development and his deep love for the game.
